Mercy Is A Residential Treatment Facility Essay - 959 Words

To start off this journey, you need a little background. Life didn’t make much sense when I was a kid. There was lots of abuse and not so much fun. This all led to a place called Mercy Ministries and that is where this journey begins. Mercy is a residential treatment facility. I was introduced to the idea of Mercy in December of 2012, and I was accepted into the program in May of 2013. My entrance date was June 3, 2013. The first thought I had was when am I going to leave this hellish place. Six months had past and I received the month of which was going to be my graduation. I could taste the finish line, I had three months left, I was going to graduate in March. I had no idea what day it was going to be but I knew that I was going to leave with the victory that God had given me. The next 3 months would be spent looking for a place of residence I could call home. So I called my best friend. â€Å"So when I get out of this place, can I stay with you?† â€Å"Sure, how long do you think you will stay?† â€Å"I will be home for good, so how long do you want me for?† â€Å"If forever works for you, I would be totally fine having you for that long.† As I hung up the phone with my best friend, I knew everything would be okay. Life was going to work itself out and I was going to be safe when I went home. The time went on and March got closer, my time had finally come, A DATE!! From Kung-Pao chicken, braised pork to flour dusted, chocolate smudged; from knife skills to splitting cake layers, setting a table, and making tamales, all these are really impressive in my mind. The quicker dinner can be served, the quicker we can get back to more important hings, like stay up all night for the quiz tomorrow, or spending a whole week to prepare for an interview. Sometimes, simplicity and the basics are what work best. As I mentioned above, I will tear through some chips and salsa. But I still stick to cook in person. Pick a few smart vices like dark chocolate, good beer or wine, ice cream, and add some pepper to make things enjoyable throughout my life.
